How we check facts, and how we make money
The rules we follow, so you can decide how far to trust us.
Where our facts come from
We start from the largest, most careful summaries: meta-analyses, Cochrane reviews and the 2025 BMJ review of every ADHD treatment meta-analysis. Then large trials, official guidelines (such as NICE and the American Academy of Pediatrics) and government data (CDC, FDA). News articles are only used to point to a study, and we say so.
How we rate “does it work?”
We give most weight to studies where the person judging the result didn’t know who got the real treatment. When those disagree with parent- or self-rated results, we go with the blinded ones and explain the difference.
Keeping it current
Every health page shows the date its facts were last checked (currently 24 October 2026). Rules that change quickly, like telehealth prescribing and medicine shortages, are rechecked more often. When we correct something, we change the page and note it.
How we make money
Right now, we don’t. In future we may earn a commission when you buy something through a link on this site, and we may sell small extra tools. Any such link is labelled “Paid link” right next to it. Partners never pay for a verdict, and we only link products in categories our own evidence rates as working or mixed. We do not take money from online prescribing services.
Medical review
We are not clinicians. We are looking for a licensed clinician to review our health pages; when one does, their name and the review date will appear on each page.
